Prep Cucumber: Trim and smash cucumber. Chop into strips.
Combine Ingredients: Combine cucumber, garlic, Aleppo pepper flakes, sesame oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds, brown sugar, and black vinegar in a bowl.
Mix and Marinate (Optional): Mix well. Marinate in the fridge for up to 2 days for deeper flavour.
- For a less intense garlic flavour, use half a clove, especially if your garlic clove is large.
- Some people like to drain off any excess moisture from the smashed cucumber before adding the dressing ingredients. Personally, I like the extra flavour from every last drop of dressing, so I keep it all in!
